D: It’s been forty two years. since my last haircut, I think I'm due.
M: De, once I do it there's no undoing it.
D: Mel, hurry up before I change my mind.
M: (pauses before starting to cut)
M: Are you crying?
D: (crying)No…
M: Yes you are. You’re crying.
D: Mel…
M: You’re doing this for mom, aren’t you? To try to make her happy.
D: She hasn't got much longer. She always says I need to cut it.
M: I know. But she would be much happier if you were happy. And this won't make you happy. Besides, you’re a grandmother now.
D: Don’t remind me. I’m still too young to be one.
M: Since you never had any girls, don’t you want to influence your granddaughter to be a long haired egghead like you?
D: Like I did with your girls?
M: Exactly you annoying cow. All three of them, little Rapunzels like you. Besides...

M: I'd miss it.
D: You’d miss my hair?
M: Probably as much as you would. So I’m asking you not to do it.
D: You know that's twice you've turned down the chance to cut my hair.
M: I know. I guess it wasn’t meant to be.
